Dr. Lippe is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who is Fellowship-trained in Adult Reconstructive Surgery. He practice specializes in joint replacement of the hip and knee, including complex primary and revision surgeries. He also performs minimally invasive surgery, direct anterior hip replacement and computer-assisted techniques. Dr. Lippe is also the only local Orthopaedic Surgeon performing partial and total joint replacements in the outpatient setting.
Dr. Lippe completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors and was named a University Scholar. Dr. Lippe went on to complete his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. During his residency, he developed an interest in hip and knee reconstructive surgery. This interest led him to seek a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the completion of his orthopedic residency program. Dr. Lippe returned to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and completed a 1 year fellowship in Adult Reconstruction that focused on both primary and complex hip and knee replacement surgeries. At the completion of his training Dr. Lippe moved to Wilmington North Carolina and has been happy to call Wilmington his home since 2006.
Dr. Lippe grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He is married with 4 children. Dr. Lippe is a racing enthusiast and spends much of his free time racing in BMWCCA Club Racing and other series. He has won the South Atlantic region and placed nationally on several occasions. In the summers, he enjoys time out on the water fishing and scuba diving.
